ADHD & Women
Discover the nuances of how ADHD presents itself differently within women in a neuroaffirming environment. Followed by Q&A.
Despite growing awareness, many women with ADHD are still overlooked or misdiagnosed due to outdated assumptions and gender bias. Drawing on the latest research and real-life experiences, we’ll unpack key topics including emotional regulation, masking, burnout and Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria. We’ll also explore how hormonal changes can intensify ADHD symptoms – and what can be done to support wellbeing throughout these shifts.
This talk takes a neuro-affirming approach, offering practical strategies and insights to empower women to better understand themselves and advocate for the support they need.

Autism in Women
Autism in women is gaining increasing recognition, yet many women remain undiagnosed, misunderstood, or misidentified for years. Join Dr Emilie Moorhead, Clinical Psychologist, for a thought-provoking and informative talk exploring how autism presents in women, why it is so often overlooked, and the profound impact this can have across the lifespan.
Drawing on extensive clinical experience and current research, Dr Moorhead will look beyond diagnostic criteria to examine the lived experiences of autistic women. Challenging common myths and misconceptions, the session will explore key themes including masking and camouflaging, mental health, identity, and the diagnostic journey. Attendees will gain valuable insight into both the challenges autistic women may encounter and the unique strengths, perspectives, and abilities they bring.
The session will provide practical strategies to help autistic women flourish in everyday life. From fostering supportive environments and enhancing communication to recognising strengths and removing barriers, attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of ways to support autistic women to achieve their full potential.
AuDHD & Gender
For many years, Autism and ADHD could not be diagnosed together, with one diagnosis excluding the other. We now know that the two are deeply connected, with up to 60% of Autistic people also experiencing ADHD. Yet despite growing awareness, many women continue to be overlooked, misunderstood, or misdiagnosed due to outdated assumptions and gender bias.
This talk explores the complex reality of AuDHD – not simply having both Autism and ADHD, but navigating the constant internal “tug of war” between two often conflicting neurotypes. Drawing on current research and lived experience, we’ll explore topics including masking, burnout and Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria.
Taking a neuro-affirming approach throughout, this talk offers practical insights and supportive strategies to help women better understand themselves, recognise their strengths, and advocate for the support they deserve.
